Ground & Water

An assessment has been undertaken to determine the potential impact of the development on local hydrological conditions and private water supplies. This involved consultation with Cherwell District Council and the Environment Agency, along with desk studies of geological data from British Geological Survey.

There are no on-site permanent watercourses or areas of standing water. However, during construction, measures will be taken to reduce the possibility of sediment entering watercourses and groundwater. These include interceptor drains, silt traps and balancing ponds, best practice measures and the use of a construction method statement. The layout of the windfarm has also been designed in such a way that turbines and associated infrastructure are not located within fifty metres of watercourses.
